Non-monogamy is on the rise, and you might be surprised at the clients who approach you about it. Some are new to it, and some just need a therapist who won’t pathologize them when they mention their second partner. We can talk about the various styles, from DADT sexual openness to kitchen-table polyamory, and how best to advise relationships within these demographics.

How will you respond if a client tells you they enjoy pain, or seeing their partner in distress? Do you know how to distinguish between healthy masochism and self harm?
